Lincolnshire Police have released a statement saying the 50-year-old man arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action.

The arrest followed the death of a woman on Northumberland Avenue in Stamford. Her death is still being treated as an unexpected death and the police are continuing to appeal for information.

On Sunday 29th December, Officers were called to a property on Northumberland Avenue following a call received at 1.45pm. A woman in her 40s was sadly found dead at the property and a man was arrested.

Lincolnshire Police have said: "We are now appealing for anyone who saw suspicious activity in and around the Northumberland Road area, or any information that may assist our investigation, to get in touch. Please call 101 or email [email protected] quoting incident 176 of 29 December."
