Successful debut album launch kicks off summer of gigs for local band
It was an incredible atmosphere when Ovation was temporarily turned into 'RAWvation' last Friday, as The RAW Collective held their Album launch party for their debut album.
On Friday 21 April, Rutland-based band 'The RAW Collective' hosted a party to launch their debut album, 'The Game'.
The launch party saw a crowd of supporters, regulars, and music lovers flock to Ovation Wine & Spirit Bar in Oakham's Gaol Street.
The Raw Collective regularly perform at Ovation, a bar and eatery owned and run by husband and wife duo, Chris and Bianca Nix.
The band formed originally in 2020, and have been performing in venues around the area since the lockdowns eased.
As a 'Collective', they are also a support network for local musicians and friends and welcome collaboration and community.
Their sound is a mixture of Rock, Blues and Country, with influences coming from the likes of US Band Rival Sons and Bruce Springsteen.
The launch party saw performances of songs from 'The Game', as well as some exclusive songs from their up and coming second album. The band also managed to sneak in some classic anthems and a couple of clever mash ups, always a winner with the devoted crowd.
Lead Guitarist and Songwriter Wayne 'Wayno' Kelly, said: "It's incredible to see so many friends, family and supporters here, who have offered us incredible support to get this album out! This launch is all about celebrating the 'RAWBots' family! It's also a great launchpad for all the summer festivals we are playing this year!'"
