Rutland Musical Theatre's 'Fiddler on the Roof' nominated for award
Rutland Musical Theatre's (RMT) 2022 production of 'Fiddler on the Roof' has been nominated for a NODA award.
The production, that was performed at the Core at Corby Cube in April 2022, has been nominated for Best Musical in the NODA East Midlands Awards.
NODA, the National Operatic and Dramatic Association, is a group that represents amateur performance societies across the country and, with a membership of over 2,500 amateur groups and a history dating back to 1899, they certainly know their stuff when it comes to musical theatre.
Luke Campbell, the NODA representative who attended 'Fiddler on the Roof', dubbed the RMT production one that was of a "professional standard".
Mr Campbell added: "Whilst I am always conscious that NODA represents amateur theatre, I affirm that the production staged by RMT was – from start to finish; from on-stage to off-stage; from production to market – absolutely of a professional standard. I also know that Nigel Hancocks (NODA Regional Councillor, East Midlands), also in attendance upon my visit, shares my views."
Due to the success of the directors, cast, creatives and costume and staging departments, this production has been nominated for Best Musical in the NODA East Midlands Awards.
The team said: "We are thrilled to announce that our 2020/2022 post-covid production of 'Fiddler on the Roof' which was performed at the Core at Corby Cube in April 2022, has been nominated for Best Musical in the NODA East Midlands Awards which will take place on 21st May 2023."
The award ceremony will take place on 21 May 2023.
Congratulations and good luck to the RMT creative team.
