Suspected illegal immigrants caught after fleeing lorry in Rutland

Suspected illegal immigrants have been caught after fleeing from a lorry in Rutland.

Some 20-30 suspected migrants jumped out of the vehicle on the A606 at Empingham on Thursday night.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 6pm.

Ten of the migrants were detained by Leicestershire Police suspected of immigration offences.

Leicestershire Police told Nub News they remain in custody while its officers liaise with the Home Office.
