The Good and New Clothes Sale will be back for 2025, organised by dedicated volunteers from For Rutland, raising money for charity. 

Every year, the UK throws away 30,000 tonnes of clothing, with approximately 30% having never been worn. Of these, less than 20% are recycles, leaving 80% of clothing disposed of going to landfill. Based off this, Rutland accounts for around 179 tonnes of fashion waste per year. 

The Good and New Clothes Sale is taking place on the evening of Friday 28th March and Saturday 19th March and will have a beautiful collection of preloved items that have been checked, cleaned and repaired by hardworking volunteers. Hoping to reduce the county's clothes waste, the Good and New Sale offers quality clothes at a great price, which are raising money for a good cause.

It is estimated that around 60% of households have good quality clothes that are no longer being worn taking up space in their wardrobes. If this is you, you can drop off your good-quality clothes at their unit in Oakham Enterprise Park, drop off them at Porters Dry Cleaners and Cavells Clothing shop in Oakham or The Falcon in Uppingham or arrange for a free pick-up service for larger donations.

Join their glamourous opening night on Friday evening with champagne and canapes provided by the Michelin starred Hambleton Hotel and get the first choice of the brilliant clothes and accessories. Tickets for the Friday evening cost £25. 

For savvy shoppers, come on Super Savers Saturday with tickets just £5 on the door. Here you can shop the stock and grab yourself a bargain knowing you are doing so in a sustainable way and giving new life to a piece that would otherwise have become waste. Teas and coffee will be available to purchase to make this a lovely way to spend your Saturday.
