Tesco's new Yo Sushi Kiosk is celebrating 2 weeks of trading today, Wednesday 22 March 2023.

It was announced in early 2023 that Oakham's Tesco would be welcoming a sushi counter, alongside a host of other upgrades which began in late 2022.

Included in these changes was the removal of the deli counters and hot kiosk, relocation of the artisan cheeses and snacks to the rear of the store, and removal of the fish counter.

A number of the manned tills were also removed in favour of self service checkouts, new security barriers, and customer service hub.

Finally, on 6 March, the new Yo Sushi kiosk opened.

It sells cold sushi rolls, as well as box meals that can be heated up at home - although they can't be warmed in store.

The Yo Sushi team are also stocking the meal deal counter with a selection of main, premium meal and snack items.

While many have voiced their support of this store upgrade, a few have begged that local people continue to support the independently owned GA Sushi, which opened on Church Street in May 2022.
