The C.S Ellis Group supports The Rutland Food Bank

The C.S. Ellis Group, based at Wireless Hill in South Luffenham, is leading by example this Christmas and donating to The Rutland Food Bank in replacement of purchasing corporate Christmas gifts.

The C.S. Ellis Group own five businesses in the area including C.S. Ellis Logistics, Pacwolf Fulfilment, Versatile, Rutland Garden Nursery and Multum Gin Parvo. Heritage is at the heart of The C.S. Ellis Group and is a fourth generation family owned business.

CEO Chaz Ellis said: "The C.S. Ellis Group have been based in Rutland since 1933. We felt it was important this year in particular to show our care and support to our local community as many families in our area will be impacted by the cost of living crisis."

Many charities are struggling since the COVID-19 Pandemic ad now cost of living crisis, food banks in particular are experiencing 'the perfect storm'.

Demand for their services continues to soar as more people have lost regular incomes there has also been a massive drop in donations as people are forced to stay inside, and many volunteer staff, who are typically older, are no longer able to donate their time. Food banks in the UK have reported an increase on the demand of their services of up to 400% since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Rutland Food bank has delivered 349 emergency food and toiletries packs between 1st April and 30th September 2022 and in addition provided ingredients for nearly 20,000 meals. The Rutland Food Bank delivers meals five days a week to the front doors of families in need.
