The Lions Club of Rutland is looking for new volunteers to join its current 24 members.

The club can always be seen at events across the county, including stewarding at the County Show, the Lions Club Annual Fireworks display and helping Santa and his sleigh every year on its tour of the streets of Oakham every December.

Since 1975, the club has been regularly supporting a significant number of local causes, including individuals, charities, schools and community groups through both physical or financial support.

In the past year alone, the Lions Club has dealt with more than 26 cases, giving £13,042 to local causes.

They also have monthly social gatherings and get together to support each other as well as the county.

If you have some spare time each month and like the sound of giving back to your community with a group of like-minded individuals, get in touch with the current president Paul Mills at [email protected]
