Rutland and Stamford Sound is hosting a special Evening of Sport on Thursday 6 November, featuring a star-studded line-up of international sports stars.

The event, which will take place at Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre, will showcase internationally acclaimed sports stars from a diverse selection of sports with the hopes of inspiring the next generation and connecting people locally to sports.

Audience members can enjoy hearing stories and experiences from each member of the panel, followed by asking them questions during the Question-and-Answer session.

The famous faces appearing on the panel will include: former England Cricketer Matthew Hoggard, former Leicester Tigers and Ireland Rugby Player Geordan Murphy, former Peterborough United striker and Scotland footballer Craig Mackail-Smith, Assistant Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey Team Coach Linton Grant, race director and founder of CiCLE Classics Races Colin Clews, and International Gymnast Ryan Cirino.

There will also be an interview with Kayna Penrose-Toms, who plays rugby for Stamford Women's Rugby Team and the England Deaf Rugby Team.

Station Manager Rob Persani said: 'Following our successful evening celebrating local music, we're really fortunate to have local, regional and international sporting talent who are either based here or have strong local connections who are coming together as part of our unmissable evening. It'll be full of inspiring stories, insight and fun.'

Tickets are now available, with all proceeds going towards the maintaining and running of Rutland and Stamford Sound and Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre.
