A tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II is to be held in Oakham on the second anniversary of her passing this Sunday (8th September).

The ceremony is to be held at 10am at the statue of HRH Queen Elizabeth II in Oakham. This will serve as an opportunity for people to pay their respects and show their gratitude for her 70 years of service to the country.

A wreath of flowers will be laid for Britain's longest serving monarch by HM Lord Lieutenant of Rutland Dr Sarah Furness, who first revealed the statue in April 2024. Over a thousand people attended the unveiling of the statue on what would have been Her Late Majesty's 98th Birthday.

The ceremony on the 8th September will be followed by a service at All Saints Church in Oakham which all are welcome to attend from 10:30am.
