Two Oakham residents named among King's 2025 Birthday Honours list

Two Oakham residents have featured in the King's birthday honours list, which was published on 13 June.
The list aims to "mark the extraordinary contributions and service of people across the UK".
There are more than 1,000 people on the list, including scientists, artists, volunteers, and other 'community champions'.
The two local champions were as follows:
Paul Nigel Livingston, a chief executive at Lockheed Martin UK, was made a commander of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to the defence industry.
And Ann Mary Cowan was made a medallist of the Order of the British Empire for services to the community in Manton, Rutland.
Honours are awarded by the monarch, but they're usually decided by recommendation from senior members of the government, or from the public.
They're made for people who have served and helped Britain and / or have made significant achievements in public life.
There were lots of other big names in the list this year, too.
Among the sportspeople were darts players Luke Littler and Luke Humprhies, as well as former England captain David Beckham. Former tennis player Virginia Wade also made the list.
Actor Gary Oldman was given a knighthood, and hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly were made MBEs for services to broadcasting.
