Oakham residents were furious the weekend as a burst pipe resulted in loss of water for the whole weekend, with a steady supply only returning on the morning of Monday the 25th of July 2022.

With temperatures reaching high 20's all weekend, residents were left without any water to shower, wash, or drink this weekend as Severn Trent struggled to fix the leak.

Local lady, Karen, said: "I called and they eventually told me that they weren't bringing around bottles of water - I had to call and have an argument to hear that. With bills as high as they are, it's not good enough."

Another resident said: "My daughter has been sick. They didn't tell us that the water might not be safe to drink, and no bottled water had been dropped round."

The water has since returned and, while it is discoloured in many households, residents have been advised that the water is safe to drink.

Keep up to date with any remaining issues on the Severn Trent website.
