Join in with a host of events in and around Rutland this weekend, including family-friendly Father's Day fun, feasts fit for a king (or Dad!) and much more.

Greetham Gathering

Get the ball - or the wheels - rolling early this Father's Day at the Greetham Gathering on Thursday 15 June 2023.

Join passionate car enthusiasts at Greetham Community Centre for the monthly event from 4pm until dusk.

The meet will be taking place once a month, and June's event is just in time for Father's Day!

There will be food and drinks available.

RAF Charity Cycle

Is dad a sports nut, or does he just like giving back?

By taking part in RAFA Rides you will be supporting the work of the RAF Association. For over 90 years they have provided much-needed help and support to millions in the RAF community and continue to work tirelessly to help them feel connected to the RAF and equip them with the tools they need to live dignified, fulfilled and independent lives.

It's more than just a ride. It's your chance to be part of something special.

The event will take place on Saturday 17 June at Kendrew Barracks and costs £40.

Oakham Pride Festival of Love

For the loud and proud dads out there, how about Oakham Pride's Festival of Love celebration?

On Saturday 17 June, Oakham Pride 2023 will be taking place in Cutts Close and Oakham Castle. 

Enjoy music, stalls, games and more at the now-annual event.

All are welcome to attend in support of the local LGBT+ community, so if dad is an ally or part of the community, this is one for him. 

Entry is free and the event kicks off at 12:30 and goes on until 4:30pm.

Live Music at The Hornblower

On Saturday 17 June, Calder McLaughlin will be performing at The Hornblower from 3 - 6pm in their wonderful sun-trap beer garden

He will be covering music from pop to soul legends and much more, and food and drinks are also available.

Father's Day at Rutland Farm Park

On Saturday AND Sunday, take dad to enjoy all the fun of the farm - and dad goes free!

On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June from 10am - 5pm, Rutland Farm Park will be celebrating Father's Day by offering free entry to all dads with one paying guest.

The family attraction located on Uppingham Road will be welcome families across the weekend to enjoy a day out on the farm suitable for all ages. 

Meet the horses, goats, sheep, alpacas, chickens, geese and any more furry friends.

Head to the cafe to enjoy local ice-cream, fresh snacks, sandwiches and more, and learn all about rural life in Rutland.

Uppingham Feast Day

On Sunday 18 June, Uppingham Feast Day returns, a perfect treat for the foodie dads out there.

The event kicks off at noon and will welcome live music, craft stalls, local sellers and trade tables, children's entertainment, food and more.

Father's Day at Cutts Close

Celebrate Father's Day at Cutts Close Park where local favourite bands The Hound Dogs and Marlow and Smith will be performing, there will be The Grainstore bar and food stalls from 12-5pm on Sunday 18 June.

Organised by Oakham Town Council, the event is free and promotes local sellers, bands and more.

There is limited parking, so attendees are advised to walk if possible.

Father's Day Country Pursuit

Come test your skills and have some fun at Wymondham Windmill, Butt Lane, this Fathers Day, 18 June, from 12 - 5pm:

Try out three exciting country pursuits for only £5:

  • Archery
  • Laser Clay Shooting
  • Falconry 

Refreshments are available at the bar and café all day, or enjoy a hog roast and drink for just £10.

Anyone can join in the fun, and there is something suitable for all age.

No booking required, just turn up on the day and purchase activity tickets from the barn.
