There's loads going on this weekend with a host of events taking place in and around Oakham and Rutland this weekend.

This weekend is absolutely packed with things to do, including multiple Christmas markets, an craft workshop, art show and live music.

Escape the Ordinary Art and Craft Exhibition

Lincolnshire based Eve Marshall and Shalini Austin have created the Escape the Ordinary exhibition.

Displaying various artists from Stamford and the surrounding areas, the exhibit will include a mix of mediums including felt, copper, fused glass, ceramics, paintings, sculptures, jewellery, wood, photograph, printing and more.

This exhibition will run from 12th to 23rd November at Stamford Arts Centre and entry is free. Click here for more information.

The Rutland BIG Christmas Market

This year's Rutland Big Christmas Market has moved to The Barnsdale in Oakham to make more space for even more festive stalls, food and entertainment than before.

With over 90 stalls, local businesses and charities will be showcasing the best Rutland has to offer. Santa Claus will be making a special appearance between 10am and 2pm on the Saturday and Sunday, with donations going to The Lions Club of Rutland.

Uppingham Craft Fayre and Market

Uppingham Craft Fayre and Market will take place in Uppingham Town Hall on Sunday 17th November between 10am and 4pm.

Stalls will include Christmas gifts, artisan pieces and local handmade goods.

ABBA Tribute

On Saturday 16th November, Steam Bar in Oakham will host a night of disco magic with their ABBA tribute night.

Duo ABBAlicious will be performing the band's biggest hits from 8pm. Tickets available on the door.

Upcycled Christmas Gnome Workshop

Join Adult Learning's one-day workshop and make a stuffed gnome Christmas decoration. Learn how to cut patterns, hand stitch, use a sewing machine and take home a pattern to make more of your own gnomes.

This workshop will take place between 9.30am and 2.30pm on Saturday 16th November and costs £29.95 or £14.62 for a concession. The workshop will take place at Oakham Enterprise Park. Click here for more information.

Thursday Night Dinner at Fox and Hounds

The team at The Fox & Hounds in Knossington be hosting their weekly Thursday night special on 14 November, and this week the team are serving up Indonesian inspired lamb curry (lamb Rendang) a lightly seasoned curry with coriander, lime & lemongrass, OR, a home smoked cod, salmon & haddock pie, cheddar mash, French style peas.

For just £12.95, every week they put on a popular meal deal, and you can head down to 6 Somerby Road, Knossington to join the fun.
