Quiz Night at The Plough

The weekly quiz at The Plough is a popular event at friendly village pub, and will be taking place again on Thursday 28 September. 

The event costs £1 per person to enter, max 6 person per team. 

Winning team get a round of drinks, and all teams go into a draw to crack the safe, so you don't even have to know it all to be in with a chance!

Thursday Night Dinner at The Fox and Hounds

The Fox and Hounds will be hosting their £12 Thursday special again on 5 October.

This week's dish is chicken parmigiana, and you can enjoy a £3 Atlantic Pale Ale and other discounted drinks too!

Head down to 6 Somerby Road, Knossington to join the fun.

Justice Service

The High Sheriff's Justice Service for the County of Rutland will take place at All Saints' church on Friday 6 October at 10am.

Before the service, at 9.30am, a procession will assemble at Oakham Castle containing members of the judiciary, military, civic High Sheriff's and other local officials.

Oakham Arts and Craft Market

Come along and support the Oakham Arts and Craft market on Saturday 7 October between 9am and 2:30pm.

Stalls sell goods such as woolly hats and gloves, artwork, jewellery, honey, woodwork, house plants and award winning pork pies. The event will also welcome some new micro business ready to show you their goods this weekend.

Rutland Sinfonia

Rutland Sinfonia begin their new season with a popular programme of music this weekend, featuring locally born and educated cellist Gabriel Francis-Dehqani playing Tchaikovsky.

Join them at Oakham School Chapel at 7:30pm on Saturday 7 October and enjoy:

Rossini – Overture The Italian Girl in Algiers

Sibelius – Valse Triste

Tchaikovsky – Rococo Variations for Cello

Beethoven – Symphony No. 7

Rutland Pet Festival

Rutland Pet Festival is back on Sunday 8 October from 11am until 4pm in Oakham Castle, the Castle Grounds and Oakham Market Place.

There will be food, drinks and gift stalls for humans and your furry friends, as well as a range of fun-filled competitions:

  1. 11.30am - Prettiest Girl 
  2. 12.15pm - Most Handsome Boy
  3. 1.00pm - Best Rescue
  4. 1.30pm - Best Trick
  5. 2.15pm - Fancy Dress
  6. 3.00pm Agility Course

£2.50 per entry per class.
