Join in with a huge range of family friendly events this weekend including food and drinks in Oakham Market Place, or Bat and Bottle's Vino and Vinyl weekend.

Hashtags live at The Grainstore

On Saturday the 17th of September, The Grainstore are welcoming 4-piece band, The Hashtags.

Originally formed as an acoustic duo, now expanded as a 4-piece band from the heart of the midlands, covering a range of songs that you all love and remember, but very much leaving their own mark. With influences ranging from country to rock and everything in between, you can guarantee there is something for everyone, and with their high energy performance, you can't help but want to join in.

The band will begin at 9pm and entry is free.

The venue will be serving food beforehand, so get yourself booked in for a table by calling 01572770065.

Bat and Bottle Vino and Vinyl weekend

On Saturday 17th September (from 10am until 3pm) and Sunday 18th September (from 10am until 1pm), Bat and Bottle will be hosting their Vino and Vinyl weekend.

Music aficionado Brian Webster will be bringing the rock and roll with some incredibly vinyl, and husband and wife team Ben and Emma Robson will be showing and selling a huge collection of wines and tipples to accompany the tunes.

This is an incredibly rare chance to explore the vast amount of records Brian has for sale, along with a great opportunity to taste some lovely wines in the Bat and Bottle warehouse. There will be no minimum purchase.

Head down to Units 18D and 18B Oakham Enterprise Park, to get involved in the fun.

Rutland Open Art Studios

On the 17th and 18th of September, Rutland Open Studios will be holding their annual event celebrating local artists.

The Open Studios body of local artists will open up their studios, homes, and creative spaces to the general public for them to browse, buy, watch demos and ask questions about what inspires the artists and their work.

All information, including a full list of the artists exhibiting, where their studios are based and when and where they'll be open is on the Rutland Open Studios website

Brochures can be downloaded from the website or can be found in many shops, pubs, hotels and public information places throughout Rutland.

Most studios will display signs and bunting outside so that they are easy to locate.

Rutland Day Food and Drink Festival

On Sunday the 18th of September, there will be a range of local businesses selling good, crafts, food and drinks in Oakham Market Place.

Despite the decision to cancel the Rutland Day celebrations in Oakham Castle upon the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II, food, drink stalls will be on the Market Place, Market Street and Mill Street and inside Orbis on Mill Street from 11am until 4pm.

Organised and run by Carolyn Acton Events, this is one not to miss.

Oakham Castle will still be open so that residents can sign the Books of Condolence for HM
