Ceilidh Dancing with Govannen

Tickets are now on sale for 'Govannen' at Victoria Hall 

Enjoy an evening of Ceilidh dancing with the area's most popular Celtic band Govannen. Join in, dancing to the traditional jigs and reels with instructions from an experienced dance caller on Rutland county's best dance floor.

Govannen are one of the best Celtic music bands in the UK blending jigs and reels with traditional and contemporary songs.

Tickets £10 (plus booking fee).

Fully licensed bar. Doors open at 7.00pm. Music from 8.00pm. Last orders 11.00pm. Event ends 12.00am.

Pizza Night and Calveo Launch at Rutland Garden Village

It is going to be a busy night at Rutland Garden Village on Friday 28 April.

The pizza oven is going to be lit from 4pm so that you can have 'Your Pizza, Your Way'. With pizza starting from £8.99 including a free beer, glass of house wine or soft drink per person this is the perfect way to unwind at the end of a busy week.

Musical Extravaganza

In an evening concert celebrating the work of their instrumentalists and singers, Oakham School musicians take to the stage in an exciting programme of classical works and popular favourites.

Alongside wide-ranging ensemble performances from their Chamber Orchestra and Concert Band, prizewinning students from a recent Piano Duet and Singing competition perform again, and selected pupils showcase their instrumental and vocal talents in solo performances.

Programme to include music by Ireland, Stravinsky and The Beatles!

The event will take place on Friday 28 April, 7.30pm in Oakham School Chapel.

Family Fun Day

On Saturday 29 April, Oakham RFC and Royce Rangers in conjunction with Carolyn Action Events will host a family fun day at the Rugby Club and Showground from 11am until 4pm. 

The Oakham Rugby Presidents Day and Royce Rangers End of Season Presentation Day will include a friendly rugby game and family events, and all are welcome.

You can enjoy: 

  • a funfair
  • craft and gift stalls inside the pavilion
  • food stalls
  • sports activities
  • car boot

Rutland Car Boot Sale will also be going on from 10/11am, so be sure to arrive in good time as the A606 bypass on the north side of Oakham will be busy.

Star Wars Day at Rumble

Aspiring Padawan and seasoned Jedi will be able to take part in Star Wars themed outdoor laser tag missions at the Rutland Water's Rumble Live Action Gaming site on 30 April and 1 May. 

The price for the Star Wars missions is £20 per person for a 60 minute session. It is suitable for adults and children aged eight and above, however for Star Wars missions only children aged six and seven are also welcome, provided they are accompanied by an adult.

Modern Day Bridal Launch

On Bank Holiday Monday, a new bridal shop will be launching in Oakham.

Modern Day Bridal, located in The Maltings off Mill Street, will be hosting their open day from 10am and visiting brides will get goodie bags and treats.
