There's loads going on this weekend with a host of events taking place in and around Oakham and Rutland this weekend.

Christmas Wreath Making at Rutland Farm Park

Get stuck into the festive season by making your very own Christmas Wreath at Rutland Farm Park this weekend.

Make a festive wreath using a selection of local and seasonal greenery, enjoy a drink and a sweet treat and create some seasonal magic to proudly display on your front door.

This activity costs £50 per person and pre-booking is required.

Sessions are running 7pm - 9pm on Friday 29th November, 2pm - 4pm on Saturday 30th and 11am - 1pm on Sunday 1st December.

Music Night at The Angler

On Friday 29th November between 6pm and 9pm, Rita B will hold Music Night at The Angler in Oakham.

Including popular songs from throughout the decades as well as all your Christmas favourites, this is set to be a lively and joyful evening of good music, food and drink.

Join for a few drinks or book a table for the evening!

Rutland Fair Trade Christmas Market

This years Fair Trade Christmas Market will be held at Oakham Castle on Saturday 30th November.

The event will run from 10am to 3pm and feature a wide range of ethically sourced and traded products from around the world. This is perfect to start your Christmas shopping or get yourself a little treat.

Rutland recently has it's status as a Fair Trade County renewed, with local businesses and organisations working hard to maintain support for the cause.

The Co-op in Oakham will also be offering free samples of Fairtrade wines and chocolate. There will also be the opportunity to learn more about Fairtrade, the benefits of supporting the initiative and how to get involved.

Metallica Reloaded at Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre

The 'UK's best Metallica cover band' will be coming to Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre on Saturday 30th November from 7.30pm.

Metallica Reloaded have been recognised as the most authentic sounding tribute band, perfectly capturing the highlights of every era of one of the finest metal bands in history.

Snowflake Appeal Christmas Extravaganza

Join Meadow View Dog Training for the launch of their official Annual Snowflake Appeal on Sunday 1st December between 12 and 4pm. This event will be raising funds for Dog Star Foundation and Dogs on the Street, to help feed homeless dogs on Christmas Day.

The Christmas Extravaganza will be held in the indoor training arena, with stalls from over 20 local businesses and craft stalls offering a unique Christmas shopping experience.

Stalls will be selling outdoor clothing, jewellery, crystals, candles, Christmas decorations and plenty more, as well as stands from local animal charities.

Thursday Night Dinner at Fox and Hounds

The team at The Fox & Hounds in Knossington be hosting their weekly Thursday night special on 28 November, and this week the team are serving up steamed game pudding, bubble and squeak and roast red wine jus OR turkey leak and bacon pie, buttered chive mash and greens.

For just £12.95, every week they put on a popular meal deal, and you can head down to 6 Somerby Road, Knossington to join the fun.
