There's loads going on this weekend with a host of events taking place in and around Oakham and Rutland this weekend.

Christmas Fair for The Cinnamon Trust

On Thursday 12th December between 10am and 3pm, Manton Village Hall will be holding a Christmas Fair raising money for The Cinnamon Trust.

The fair will include 20 stalls from across the county selling unique goods, perfect for Christmas gifts (or to keep for yourself). There will also be coffee and cake, homemade soup and baked goods from Hambleton Bakery.

Entry to this event costs £5 in cash, which includes a ticket to the tombola, with money raised being donated to The Cinnamon Trust.

The Cinnamon Trust are a brilliant charity helping give older people peace of mind by providing practical care for their pets.

Hoggy's Grill Beer and BBQ Night

Hoggy's Grill is proud to be teaming up with Beers of America again to end their year in style.

Taking place on Friday 13th December between 6pm and 8pm at Hoggy's Grill, this event will include the opportunity to try some delicious festive BBQ treats, all accompanied by a variety of different beers. Additionally, all tickets purchased will be added into a draw on the night to win a bonus case of beer. For more information and where to book tickets, click here.

Children's Christmas Party at Victoria Hall

If you're looking to keep the little ones entertained this weekend, this Christmas Party hosted by Carolyn Acton Events will be running between 2pm and 5pm at Victoria Hall in Oakham.

Open to children aged 4 and up, the party will include games, a selection box for everyone to take home and maybe a surprise visit from Santa.

Meet Santa at Rutland Farm Park

Rutland Farm Park is hosting two events where children get the opportunity to enjoy delicious food, meet Santa and explore the farm.

Breakfast with Santa will be running on Saturday 14th and 21st December between 9am and 11am, you can enjoy a home cooked breakfast with Santa before each child gets to meet him properly and receive a small gift.

Alternatively, in the afternoon there is Afternoon Tea with Santa on Saturday 14th and 21st between 2pm and 4pm. At this event you will finish off a fabulous visit to the Farm Park by enjoying a homemade afternoon tea in the festively decorated pig sty. Following this, each child will be able to meet Santa and receive a small gift.

Tickets for both of these events cost £14.95 per person and booking is required via the Rutland Farm Park website.

Christmas in Concert with Rutland Musical Theatre

Rutland Musical Theatre are proud of present their 'Christmas in Concert' performance which promises to be an evening of all things Christmas with hits from your favourite musicals as well as some Christmas classics.

This concert will help to raise funds for the society to put on their next major performance of 'Shrek The Musical' in April 2025. A percentage of the proceeds from this concert will also go to St Peter and St Paul's Church in Uppingham, who are kindly hosting the concert.

Thursday Night Dinner at Fox and Hounds

The team at The Fox & Hounds in Knossington be hosting their weekly Thursday night special on 5 December, and this week the team are serving up pies. They have the option of turkey, chorizo, leek and mushroom pie or pulled brisket of beef, Guinness and local stilton pie with spring onion mash and buttered kale.

For just £12.95, every week they put on a popular meal deal, and you can head down to 6 Somerby Road, Knossington to join the fun.
