Yellow weather warning for snow in place across Rutland as Storm Goretti approaches

The Met Office have put in place a yellow weather warning for snow from Thursday 8 January at 6pm to midday on Friday as Storm Goretti brings heavy snow. 

According to the Met Office: 'A deep area of low pressure will move across the south of the UK during Thursday and into Friday bringing a mixture of rain, snow and strong winds. 

The whole of the East and West Midlands comes under the weather warning, including Rutland, predicting a 'medium' impact during the outlined period. 

Snow is forecast in Rutland from around 6pm on Thursday, with light easterly winds and temperatures feeling like –2 degrees, dropping down to feeling like –4 degrees by 9pm. 

 There have also been warnings in place for dangerous icy conditions on the roads.
