Oakham: Rutland residents inspire with astonishing donations to Ukraine

Oakham's amazing residents step up following an appeal by two local businesses for donations to support the humanitarian action in Ukraine.

Two businesses, Kidzone Melton and Olive Oakham, launched an urgent appeal online on Monday for donations such as clothes, shoes, blankets and food to send out to the Poland Ukraine boarder.

Showing their true community spirit, the Oakham residents have rallied and filled Olive Oakham's beautiful salon to the rafters with a huge range of genres donations.

Local supermarket Tesco also donated a great deal of food and supplies.

This is being shipped out tonight, so anyone looking to donate must drop their offerings off at Olive Oakham, Crown Walk, by 7pm on the 2nd of March.

Olive Oakham have since appealed for anyone who owns a van or truck in or near to Oakham to help them transport the goods to Melton to meet the lorries tonight.
