Oakham Nub News has teamed up with a regular reader to share a regular 'Cocktail of the Week' feature, including classics, reinventions of familiar favourites and some crazy concoctions unique to Nub News.

This week's cocktail is a really tasty mix that makes for a great after dinner tipple, the Amaretti Martini.

Complete with coffee, a popular after dinner aperitif and topped with whatever chocolate you have in the cupboard, we challenge you not to love this one!

Ingredients:

  • 50ml strong coffee
  • 50ml amaretto
  • 50ml amaretto velvet/creme or 25ml single cream
  • maple syrup

Method:

  1. add your coffee, amaretto, amaretto velvet/creme or cream into a shaker over ice
  2. add as much maple syrup as you like to make the cocktail sweeter - we added about 1 tsp
  3. shake hard until the coffee is cooled and your mix is completely chilled
  4. strain into a coupe or martini glass
  5. top with whatever chocolate you have in your house or a sprinkle of cocoa powder

Hint - we had this with amaretto creme liqueur/velvet, but if you can't get hold of this, cream works just fine.

Check out our other Cocktail of the Week features by heading to the search bar at the top of the page and typing in 'Cocktail', allowing you to view the whole gallery of our popular weekly creations.
