In a statement published yesterday by Rutland Police, the force shared they had made an arrest following a report of a man carrying a knife on Uppingham High Street.

Police were called to Uppingham High Street East at 9.15pm on Friday 5 June after receiving a report that a man had been seen on the street with a knife and had made threats to a member of the public.

Armed officers were deployed to the area and a 17-year-old was 'arrested on suspicion of possession of knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, using threatening/ abusive/ insulting words/ behaviour with intent to cause violence and assaulting a constable in the execution of their duty.'

According to Rutland Police, 'No injuries were reported.
