A local award-winning provider of home and live-in care has taken the customer its cared for the longest out to a special celebratory lunch.

Bluebird Care Stamford & Rutland, who for over a decade has been providing bespoke care and support to some of our community's most vulnerable, treated Oakham resident Sheila to a three-course meal (with all the trimmings!) at the Admiral Hornblower in Oakham recently.

Directors, Leisa MacKenzie and Tim Carey, said: "We're delighted to have cared and to continue to support and care for Sheila since pretty when we first opened our doors in 2012! Sheila has been as much part of our care journey as we are of hers, and we are now in our 11th year with each other, supporting Sheila's independence and the great care Sheila's team has provided."

At the celebratory meal to celebrate over 10 years as a customer, Sheila was joined by members of her long serving care team: Michelle R (Senior Carer, 7 years service), Jennifer W (2 years service) and Suzanne B (4 years service), plus Bluebird Care Stamford & Rutland Director, Tim.

Sheila said: "It is so lovely to be invited out to celebrate this. Bluebird Care provides me with excellent care and I love all my carers. It's so lovely seeing familiar and new faces. They are all smashing!"

Bluebird Care offers a unique service of tailored care visits which range from anything from 30 minutes to full live-in support. As well as personal care they also help with meal preparation, welfare checks, night care, shopping, social trips, visits to the hospital and provide extra support for post-discharge customers.
