There are a range of long and short-term roadworks going on in and around Oakham, and they are causing frustration for residents and road users alike.

Temporary traffic lights have been on the A606 bypass where Schofield Road joins Burley Park Way since the 21st of November, and these are scheduled to remain until the 10th of February 2023.

On day one of these roadworks, a road traffic accident caused significant delays around the bypass. Read more here.

Since then, the malfunctioning 4-way traffic lights have caused a stir on social media, and drivers have been warned to take care when passing through these Cadent Gas works in case of further issues with the temporary traffic lights.

Drivers and residents on Foxfield Way have begged drivers to refrain from queuing over the entrance to the road.

When the South Street works will be completed remains unconfrmed.

In Oakham, there are also works taking place on the Goal Street/South Street intersection. While these works are mostly taking place on the pavement, barriers and signage is spilling onto the road by the zebra crossing opposite Tesco.

In Ketton, works are also underway on Sulthorpe Road. These are scheduled to end on the 2nd of March 2023.

Further works are being undertaken by Openreach on Spinny Road, Ketton. These are scheduled to remain until the 17th of March 2023.

These works come just after the Ketton rail bridge was repaired following a lorry strike. Read more here.
