Children have begun returning to Uppingham Community College after it was ravaged by fire almost a month ago.

The premises on London Road suffered a "significant" fire due to an electrical fault, as previously reported by Nub News.

On Thursday, the school gave guidance to parents on the arrangements for children to prepare for their return.

Today, Year 7 pupils returned to school as part of a phased re-opening.

This afternoon, Headteacher Ben Solly tweeted: "Over 98% attendance for Year 11 today @UCC_Rutland - I'm delighted with the level of confidence families have shown in their children returning to school."
