Boris Johnson is backing Rutland MP Alicia Kearns in her campaign to end 'lone births.'

The Prime Minister gave his support to the pregnant MP in the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday.

It follows the Mail on Sunday backing her campaign over a week ago, as previously reported by Nub News, leading to some heath trusts to ease their restrictions in line with government guidance.

The MP has spoken out against the emotional trauma caused by hospital trusts from preventing partners or other loved ones of pregnant women from being with them in hospital due to Covid-19 social distancing guidelines.

Yesterday, the Mail on Sunday reported the Prime Minister as saying it was of "utmost importance" that partners were present during "incredibly special moments in their lives."

Mr Johnson continued: "No woman should have to go through labour alone without the support of partners of loved ones.

"The guidance has changed to ensure pregnant women can have someone with them for vital appointments and throughout the birth of their child."
