A new bar is opening later this month in Oakham - in the former The Yard, in Church Street.

Orbis is the latest business venture by the premises' new owner Jonny Spencer, who also owns the town's Bill's Bar.

In the run-up to Christmas he opened the venue as a successful pop-up alpine-themed après ski bar.

Jonny said: "I chose the name Orbis because it means globe in Latin and the bar will be serving spirits wines and cocktails from around the world.

"After a week of training and VIP tasting events the bar will open to the public on Saturday, 25 of January at 11am.

"One of our signature cocktails is called the 'Drumstick' in homage to the great lollipop itself.

"As well as a wide range of drinks there will also be international small plates and signature dishes to share, including vegan options."

Orbis is launching with winter opening times - Wednesday to Sunday 11am until 11 pm.

Guests can also enjoy a great cup of coffee as well as a lunchtime 'Two dine for £20 deal'.
