No more confirmed cases of coronavirus were reported in Rutland today- on the day Rutland Memorial Hospital reported its first death.

According to official government figures, the number of confirmed cases remained at 20.

The first death at Rutland Memorial Hospital was man in his seventies with an existing condition. He died at the Oakham-based hospital on Sunday.

However, Rutland is reported to have experienced other deaths from coronavirus.

No more confirmed cases of coronavirus were also reported in Lincolnshire today, on the day the county's death toll topped 100.

The figures from Public Health England comes as the national death toll was revised upwards to account for the several thousands that have died in care homes.

The United Lincolnshire Trust- which runs hospitals at Grantham, Lincoln, Boston and Louth- reported four more deaths today, bringing their total to 101.

A ULHT statement said: "The patients were a woman aged 59, and three men aged 86, 87 and 89 who all had underlying health conditions."

One death was also announced at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust hospitals, bringing the Northern Lincolnshire total to 63.

Peterborough City Hospital, which serves Stamford, the Deepings and Bourne, has so far reported 64 fatalities.

Across the UK, the death toll shot up by almost 5,000 to 26,097 as care home deaths were now included for the first time. But the daily increase was 765.

The number of cases across the UK had increased 4,076 to 165,221.

Across the region, Lincolnshire recorded no new confirmed cases today, with its total remaining at 804.

Leicestershire saw an increase from 874 to 884.

North East Lincolnshire saw its number increase from 129 to 130.

North Lincolnshire went up from 322 to 329.

Peterborough went up from 216 to 223.
