Coronavirus crisis: Rutland cases stable as death toll rises

The number of coronavirus cases remains stable in Rutland, according to Public Health England.

Figures released this afternoon shows the county still has a reported six cases, the same as yesterday.

No deaths in Rutland are reported either.

Case numbers were also stable in Peterborough, with the total remaining at 48.

The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust said on Friday ten patients have so far died with Coronavirus at its hospitals- four at Peterborough City and six at Hinchinbrooke- all were aged over 70 and with pre-existing conditions.

No updates have been issued since.

However, three more people are reported to have died in Lincolnshire with Coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust says the victims were two women and a man.

It brings the total number of deaths at its hospitals up to 24.

A ULHT spokesman said the women were aged 55 and 82, the man was aged 76 and all had underlying health conditions.

The deaths were announced as Lincolnshire reported a further increase in reported and confirmed cases.

As of today, the county has 252 cases, compared with 233 yesterday and 182 on Friday.

Leicestershire also reported an increase in cases, with numbers rising from 277 yesterday to 311 today. On Friday, the county reported 267 cases.

Nationally, Public Health England reported the total number of confirmed and reported cases increased by 5,914 to 47,806.

The number of recorded deaths across the UK increased by 621 to 4,934.

Cases treated outside the public health system are not recorded.
