Rutland has reported no further Coronavirus cases today, but its MP Alicia Kearns has joined health chiefs in urging people to stay at home despite the fine weather.

Public Health England this afternoon revealed the number of reported and confirmed cases of Coronavirus remained at six in Rutland.

But nationally the number of deaths topped 700 over the past 24 hours, pushing the grand total to above 4,000 deaths in the UK.

Mrs Kearns said on social media today: "It may be sunny but you shouldn't be travelling in your car or otherwise for your one exercise a day.

"You shouldn't be cycling for miles to visit little village cafes either. If you go for a bike ride, cycle there & back & don't stop off for food or drink

"Rutland water is closed," she added.

Oakham Police also commented: "We know our lovely county #Rutland is stunning but we ask people not to visit us. Take some exercise locally. Have a walk or a run from your house.

#StayHomeSaveLives .We can beat this if we #StayAtHome."

Their comments echo those of health chiefs in Lincolnshire who have warned people not to visit the coast tomorrow, as temperatures are set to reach 20c.

Public Health England says Lincolnshire has 223 confirmed cases today, an increase of 41 from the 182 recorded yesterday. On Thursday the county had 151 reported cases.

This compares with 277 in Leicestershire, an increase of ten on the 267 it recorded yesterday.

Peterborough still has 48 confirmed cases.

The United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust today reported two more deaths at its four hospitals, bringing its total to 21.

But once again the trust would not say in which hospitals the deaths occurred. It operates Grantham, Boston, Lincoln and Louth hospitals.

The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which operates Peterborough City Hospital, has not issued any updates today.

To date, four have died in Peterborough City Hospital and six have died in Hinchinbrooke Hospital, since the epidemic started.

Nationally, the number of deaths increased by 708 from 3,735 to 4,313 today.

The number of cases nationally increased by 3,735 to 41,903.

However, the figures do not include untested coronavirus cases not being treated by the healthcare system.
