A list of which shops and services are still open in Rutland has been produced by the county council.

Rutland County Council leader Oliver Hemsley says many retailers and others are still trading having changed their business operations, making them safer, to allow trading to continue and to reassure customers and staff.

Coun Hemsley told Oakham Nub News: "Our communities are showing remarkable resilience in the face of this crisis and I know local businesses are keen to do everything they can to support people who are self-isolating or social distancing.

"Businesses providing essential products and services are still open. This includes supermarkets and food retailers – many of whom are offering delivery services – as well as pharmacies, garages and newsagents. To their credit, many of these businesses have also adopted new ways of working and keeping in touch with customers in response to COVID-19.

He added: "We've published a list of shops and businesses that are still open and trading , to make it easier for people to find this information.

"We would just advise that you check latest opening times with shops and businesses before making any journeys, in case these have changed for any reason."
