Coronavirus crisis: Rutland firm gains approval for building to allow 'social distancing'

By The Editor   1st Jul 2020

A Rutland company has gained planning approval for a new building to allow for 'social distancing.'

Paul Chenery of Rutland Biodynamics wanted the 65m2 building to go up by his existing 1,022m2 premises at Town Park Farm, Brooke.

Rutland Biodynamics employs 14 staff which process and sell herbal medicines which are grown mainly on the farm.

As Nub News reported previously, the planning application, submitted to Rutland County Council in May, said the modular building would be used as an office/rest room and would provide for enough space to allow for social distancing.

Rutland Council planning staff said the new building would sit next to a low profile building and had a small footprint. It also could not be viewed from outside.

They added it would be in keeping with the street scene and would have no unacceptable impact on nearby residents or on highway safety.
