Coronavirus crisis: Rutland reports an extra case as death toll mounts

Rutland has reported an extra case of coronavirus, according to official government figures.

The number of total confirmed cases being treated in hospital of Rutland residents now stands at 19.

As regularly reported by Oakham Nub News, the figures do not include those in care homes or people's homes.

Meanwhile, the death toll of people dying after being tested positive with Coronavirus in Greater Lincolnshire has now topped 150.

This afternoon, the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust announced two more deaths, putting its total at 94.

The deaths were both men aged 76 and 90, both of whom had underlying conditions.

The Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation trust announced five deaths, putting the Northern Lincolnshire total at 60.

Altogether, this gives a total death toll of 154 for the wider county.

Today the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust gave a weekly update, reporting that 99 people have in total died of the virus in its hospitals, an increase of 26 over the week.

Sixty-four people have died at Peterborough City Hospital (up 21) and 35 at Hinchingbrooke (up 5).

Across the UK, 413 people were reported to have died today, giving a total to date of 20,732.

Public Health England also reports the number of confirmed new cases of the virus today was 4,463, giving a grand total of 152, 840.

Across the region, Lincolnshire reported 11 new cases, giving a confirmed total of 759.

Leicestershire saw its number increase from 821 to 836.

North East Lincolnshire reported an increase from 123 to 125.

North Lincolnshire saw an increase from 280 to 296.

Peterborough reported an increase of one to 189.
