Coronavirus crisis: Two more cases in Rutland

The have been no reported coronavirus-related deaths across the whole of Greater Lincolnshire over the last 24 hours.

No more deaths have been reported in Rutland either.

The latest government statistics have shown no rise in any of the trusts covering the region including both United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals Trust.

The trust running Rutland Memorial Hospital also reported no deaths.

It is the second time this week the figures have shown zero fatalities.

However, the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Peterborough City Hospital, has reported a sharp rise in deaths since it las issued an update last week.

It says 154 patients being cared for in its hospitals have now died with coronavirus since it began recording such events in March.

Yesterday, the trust reported 99 deaths at Peterborough City Hospital, which serves Stamford, Bourne and the Deepings and 55 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

This compared with 64 deaths at Peterborough and 35 at Hinchingbrooke, reported early last week.

Across the UK, the reported death toll increased by 384 to 33,998.

The number of cases increased by 3,560 to 236,711.

England has 141,387 confirmed cases, which is a rate of 252.6 per 100,000 of population.

Lincolnshire this afternoon reported 1,015 cases, an increase of 13 on yesterday, giving it a rate of 134.3 per 100,000.

Rutland reported two more cases this afternoon, with its total of 30 cases, giving it a rate of 75.6 cases, per 100,000, still the fourth best rate of all the districts in the country.

Among the districts, South Kesteven reported one more case, with 153 cases giving it a rate on 107.9 cases per 100,000.

Melton remained on 60 cases (117.4).

North Kesteven increased three to 130 (112.1).

Peterborough has eight more cases at 363 (180.6).

South Holland has two more cases, with its 186 total gives it a rate of 197.9 cases per 100,000 of population.
