By The Editor   21st Oct 2019

A golf buggy was taken on a late-night joyride around the course at Rutland Water Golf Club in Edith Weston.

The buggy was taken from outside the Manton Road club's clubhouse at about midnight on Wednesday (16 Oct).

The thieves steered the buggy across the course for about a mile to the 14th green where it was driven around causing damage to the green.

- Two HGVs parked in Stretton laybys on the A1 were targeted by thieves while the drivers were asleep.

Fifteen pallets of talcum powder and baby wipes were stolen from one lorry, parked at the Ram Jam Inn, when thieves slashed both curtains and forced open the vehicle doors.

In the second theft, which happened sometime overnight on Monday, 14 and Tuesday, 15 October all the fuel was siphoned from the vehicle.

- Between 60 and 80 gallons of red diesel was siphoned from a tractor parked at Sherwood Skip Services in Wood Lane, Greetham, between 12.50am and 4am on Tuesday, 15 October.
