Craftfest is heading back to Oakham this Easter weekend.

Kicking off tomorrow, Friday 29 March, Craftfest will be back at The Grainstore Brewery and Tap this Easter.

The annual festival is a celebration of great beer, some local and some from further afield, and takes place every Easter bank holiday weekend, making the most of the four-day break and allowing anyone with a sore head following the event to sleep it off!

The craft lager, ale and gin festival is a celebration of two of the biggest growing sectors in the UK drinks market, with live music and great food served all weekend. There will be over 20 craft lagers, all on tap and hand pull, as well as 50 gins available all weekend.

View the list of beers on offer on the Grainstore website.

Entry to the event is free, and the opening times are as follows:

Friday 29 March – Midday to 1am

Saturday 30 March – 9am to 1am

Sunday 31 March – 9am to 1am

Monday 1 April – 11am to 11pm

Founded in 1994, The Grainstore Brewery was formed through the collaboration of two friends, Tony Davis formally Head Brewer and Production Director at Ruddles Brewery and Mike Davies of Davro Fabrication.

With Tony's 30 years of brewing experience behind them, and Mike's engineering and steel fabrication expertise at their disposal, the two set to work on a derelict Victorian grain store situated next to Oakham Railway Station. Following renovation of the building and the lowering into position of the large fermenting vessels, copper and conditioning tanks, the brewery tap opened its doors in September 1994.

The 15 barrel brew house plant with its capacity to brew 60 barrels per week, started brewing its first brew, 'Cooking Bitter' a few months later. This tradition has since been continued by Tony's son William Davis and his business partner Peter Atkinson, as the brewery and Tap go from strength to strength.

The venue hosts regular festivals, such as the upcoming Craftfest, where food will be available and attendees can enjoy a huge range of beers, larger and more, as well as live music.
