A local pub is offering a range of daily meal deals, events and fun suitable for the whole family.

The Plough is nestled in the heart of Greetham, a surprisingly lively village located north of Rutland Water, just a short drive from Oakham.

Since being taken over by landlord Peter Ling, who is also head chef and entertainer extraordinaire at the community hub, The Plough has introduced a range of deals, themed nights and a new and ever improving menu, as well as their regular bingo and quiz nights and live music sets.

On top off this, a permanent fixture at the pub is the menagerie of animals, including rabbits and a flock of budgies. They welcome dogs at all of their events and pride themselves on being "probably the most dog friendly pub in the area".

Earlier this year, the team stepped up to fulfil this promise by hosting a 'bring your pet to the pud' day to raise funds for Mutts Nutts Dog Rescue.

Late last year, the team also accepted the prestigious Pub of the Season award from Rutland Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

Popular with the volunteer beer group, The Plough is a hive of activity and serves a rotation of popular beers all year round. On top of having a passion for great beer and food, the team are "incredibly passionate about supporting live, local music".

This weekend, they will welcome a live music set from Jonny Sunday, who will sing a range of songs, from 60s classics to modern hits.

Prior to Jonny's visit, on Wednesday Peter will be hosting the pub's weekly bingo night, and on Thursday evening regular and new teams will descend on the pub to join the weekly quiz night, both events offering the chance to win big.
