The Plough accept CAMRA Pub of the Season Award
Today, Friday 9 December, The Plough in Greetham have accepted CAMRA's Summer Pub of the Season award from the regional Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) team.
Each year, CAMRA representatives from Rutland vote to decide who will win the prestigious award, determining also which Rutland pub, or pubs, will feature in the Good Beer Guide, published annually by the organisation.
CAMRA representative for Rutland, Rich Harris, presented the award at lunchtime today, with a host of Plough locals and Greetham residents, as well as passionate CAMRA representatives, in attendance.
Rich Harris said: "This is a thoroughly deserved award to Pete and the team at The Plough. It's a really valuable community asset, especially the shop which is a new offering, and weekly events and deals. The venue was primary selected because it serves good quality beer in perfect condition."
Landlord and passionate publican, Peter Ling, added "We're overjoyed to win the award, and it's all down to the hard work of the team really."
The Plough were nominated for this award due both to their championing of good beer (of which they have a regular rotation) and because of their community spirit. They hold regular bingo, quiz and community evenings and events, and secured their spot as the community hub when they opened The Plough Village Shop in August this year.
Rich concluded: "The plough was selected by our Rutland CAMRA members, and we're always looking for new members, so if you want to enquire head to our website to find out more."
The Plough are hosting a range of events on the run up to Christmas, from Breakfast with Santa on the 17th of December, to Christmas meals bookable by calling 01572

Congratulations to the hard-working team at The Plough.
