Locals will be given the chance to explore the gardens of a historic local house this weekend.

Old Hall in Market Overton is throwing open its gates on Sunday (April 24) as part of the National Open Garden Scheme.

For just £7, guests are invited to come and explore the "lovely garden" at the grade II listed buidling and even get themselves to a sweet treat courtesy of Hambleton Bakery.

Proceeds from the day will go to support local nursing and healthcare charities.

Organisers said: "Set on a southerly ridge, stone walls and yew hedges divide this lovely garden into enclosed areas with herbaceous borders, shrubs, long walks and young and mature trees.

"In 2020 a Japanese Tea House was added at the bottom of the garden.

"Partial wheelchair access. Gravel and mown paths. Return to house is steep. It is, however, possible to just sit on the terrace."
