Rutland and Melton will benefit from a share of a £900 million in additional funding for Local Authorities announced by the Government.
Rutland County Council, Melton Borough Council and Market Harborough District Council are all set to receive £100,000 each, with Leicestershire County Council to receive £3.1 million.
Rutland and Melton MP, Alicia Kearns, said:"This funding is just another example of the Government's commitment to support our Local Authorities and will enable them to continue providing vital local services this winter.
"On top of significant funding to protect our local culture, our communities are in a strong position to build back better from the pandemic."
The funding has not been ring-fenced, meaning local leaders will be able to determine how to spend the additional funding in order to best protect public health, local vulnerable people and the running of vital services.
In total, over £4.6 billion of the £6.4 billion in additional government funding made available to councils has not been ring-fenced, reflecting the Government's view that local authorities are best placed to determine local priorities.
