The Plough, a pet and family-friendly pub in the heart of Greetham, has introduced a new lunchtime offer, set to launch today, Friday 23 November.

The team will be welcoming 'Fishy Fridays' to the pub today as the festive season roles in and neighbours and friends gather to celebrate with good food and great company.

This is one of the many offers hosted at the independent pub in the heart of the Rutland countryside, where patrons can enjoy pie deals, giant Yorkshire pudding events and other wallet-friendly feasts fit for a king - festive or fishy!

Despite striving to provide a menu jam-packed with deals every day of the week, the local pub recently announced that it will see a change in opening hours.

Following staff sickness, Landlord Peter, has made the tough decision to close The Plough every Wednesday throughout the winter, meaning the end of their popular Burger Night for now.

Pete explained: "I don’t want to close our doors, but the lovely Donna had a fall and I have been doing seven days a week in the kitchen. It’s been too hard on the whole team, and I feel that it's unfair for them. We’re a small team in the winter, and it looks like Donna will be off for some time. I don’t want to replace her, so have decided to close on Wednesdays.

"Here at The Plough, we are as much about the team as the customers, which is how we can continue to provide great service. This is not a move taken lightly, and we wanted to make it clear that we are not here to penny pinch, we just want to look after the team so that they can continue looking after you!"

Fear not, as Bingo will still take place on the first and third Monday of the month rather than every Wednesday.

The team have made the decision to keep Monday's ever-popular Giant Yorkshire Pudding Night, Tuesday's Pie Night, Thursday Curry Club and weekend deals, as well as lunching a new Fishy Friday lunchtime offer to fill the hole left by the loss of burger night.

They will also be introducing their Christmas menu very soon, so keep your eyes peeled, and sign up for the Oakham Nub News newsletter, for more news from businesses and venues across Rutland.
