Parents and carers in Rutland may be eligible to benefit from a free holiday club programme for children and young people over the school summer break, through the Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF).

The Government-backed scheme, targeted at those who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals, will enable children and young people to have fun with friends, and learn and develop new skills through enriching activities such as sport, dance, drama, mosaics, cooking, wild camps, a bush tucker adventure and Desert Rat activity days.

Councillor David Wilby, Portfolio Holder for Children's Services and Education at Rutland County Council, said: "The importance of an enriching holiday experience for all children cannot be underestimated.

"Rutland's HAF programme will benefit children, parents and our communities by enabling children to learn new skills, socialise with friends, and enjoy nutritious food in a safe environment, while supporting their return to school after the summer break."
