Rutland Water is inviting bird fanatics and amateur ornithologist to get involved in the Big Garden Birdwatch 2026.

From Friday 23 to Sunday 25 January, visitors can head to the Rutland Water Visitor Centre or Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre and get involved in a fun and relaxing day of birdwatching.

Between 10am to 3pm, you can contribute to collecting data about the country's beautiful bird population as part of the UK's biggest citizen science wildlife survey.

Both Rutland sites have free tally sheets and ID charts to take with you, along with binoculars for hire to spot and record your findings.

There will also be the opportunity to make your own suet birdfeeder to take home, making this the ideal family activity.
