Kids are being encouraged to read this half term, and what better way to get into the spooky spirit than by picking up a Halloween-themed book from the local library this October?

Love Halloween?

Scare yourself silly or get into the spirit this Halloween with some top picks available to loan from Rutland Library as they launch their 'All Hallows Read' campaign.

The team said: "Get your scare on this spooky season!

"We have a great selection of chilling titles for both adults and children - guaranteed to add some fright to your night!"

Enjoy titles including 'Spinderella', 'Horrid Henry' and even some spine tingling classics, such as 'The Graveyard Book' or 'Good Omens' by award winning author, Neil Gaiman.

To sign up to use the library services, head into Oakham Library from 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday, or Ketton Library from 9am - 5pm, Wednesday - Friday, where you will be able to sign up with a member of the team for a library card and start borrowing immediately.

Once you have signed up, you can also download the Borrow Box app, where you can download audiobooks and e-books too.

When you head in to the library, you can also take part in a Halloween treasure hunt. Ask the team for more info:
