Beer Festival and Pork Pie Championships at Grainstore Brewery and Tap

The Grainstore Brewery Tap is holding the 26th Rutland Beer Festival, bringing together great ales, live music, local food and the World Amateur Pork Pie Championships.

Taking place from Thursday 27 to Monday 31 August, The Grainstore has a packed weekend planned.

They will be serving up a wide range of real ales from around the UK, featuring over 40 Real Ales alongside golden ales, stouts, bitters, porters, barley wines and a selection of traditional ciders.

There will also be the return of the World Amateur Pork Pie Championships on Sunday.

There will also be live music and food available throughout the weekend.

The Wingdig at Wing Village

The Wingding is a celebration taking place on Sunday 30 August, bringing together local people for a village BBQ, outdoor bar, traditional games, family activities and more.

The event is being organised jointly by Wing Village Hall and St Peter and St Paul's Church, with proceeds shared between the two organisations to help support and maintain these important village amenities.

Oakham Arts Society

Oakham Arts Society are hosting a day of fascinating talks.

The first lecture will discuss Basquiat's "New York's Radiant Child" and explain why his paintings now sell for record prices. The second. lecture will look at Banksy and ask 'Is Banksy the most important artist in Britain today?'
