Rutland Girlguiding has partnered with Save the Children UK and Rutland Water junior parkrun to help change the lives of millions of disadvantaged children.

Taking practical action to make a positive difference to others is a core part of Girlguiding, so we are asking girls to raise money and take part in the junior parkrun at Rutland Water Reservoir, Normanton Road, Edith Weston on Sunday, May 12.

Girls from across Rutland will complete their first junior parkrun from all the sections of Girl Guiding, from our youngest Rainbows aged five to Brownies aged seven and older, with the help of Guides and Rangers cheering them on the whole way around the course.

All in an effort to raise funds for the charity Save the Children doing works in the UK and around the world.

Junior parkrun is the run for young people aged four to 14 and is brilliant to get the whole family involved and keeping fit together.

We are very lucky to have such a wonderful team at Rutland Water junior parkrun who are so friendly and enthusiastic and help children do there best at this challenge week in week out...and it's free!

Girlguiding just had to get involved.

Parkrun and junior parkrun are inclusive, challenging and inspiring - all the things that Girlguiding offers and values. Hopefully we can raise lots of money together for a fantastic cause.

If you would like to get involved in more adventures with Girlguiding you can register to find your nearest unit on a day and time that works for you by visiting the website by clicking the red button below.
