Grants available for Rutland residents studying for a career in farming

The Emma Molesworth Trust, in conjunction with Rutland County Council, have opened applications for the 2025/26 grants.
The Emma Molesworth Grants was established in 1966 to help provide financial assistant to Rutland residents wanting to pursue a career in agriculture. The grant provides a financial contribution to help students working towards a career in farming by reducing some of the financial burdens.
Funding can go towards course material and equipment, travel, accommodation, course fees, and special course-related projects, like field trips and work placements.
The grant can award up to £1,500 for long courses (a year or longer) and up to £250 for shorter courses (less than a year).
Applications are now open in two streams. Those received up until 21st August 2025 will be awarded between September and October 2025 and those received up until 28th February 2026 will be awarded between March and April 2026.
