A 19-year-old from Oakham has pleaded guilty to drink driving after being caught above the legal limit.

Sebastian Dent, of Uppingham Road in Oakham, was driving a long distance to visit his father in Norfolk.

Dent was stopped by Police driving a BMW on the A17 at Sutton Bridge at around 10.15 on 9 November, after Police saw him mounting grass banks and not driving in a straight line.

The roadside test carried out by Police showed he had 48 mcg of alcohol his system - the legal driving limit is 35mgc.

Appearing at King's Lynn Magistrates' Court on Thursday 11 December, he pleaded guilty to drink driving.

He was given a 14-month driving ban and ordered to pay £345 fine, £138 victim surcharge and £110 court costs.

Speaking at the Magistrates Court, Dent said: 'I would just like to apologise. I realise what I did was wrong. I wish I never did it.'
