Join 408,000 nature lovers for the 2025 Big Garden Birdwatch: help monitor Rutland’s birds this weekend
Join over 408,000 nature lovers this weekend taking part in the largest survey of British wildlife to help build a better picture of how birds in Rutland are faring.
This weekend, the RSPB will carry out their annual Big Garden Birdwatch with people across the country counting the birds in their garden to gather data on local bird populations.
In 2024, over 600,000 people took part, counting over 9.7 million birds.
This year, Rutland Water are also inviting volunteers to help them with the count. Whether you're in your own garden or at one of Rutland Water's brilliant dedicated bird watching areas, the Birdwatch is free to take part in and welcomes both experienced birdwatchers and newbies of all ages.
To sign up, visit the RSPBs Big Garden Birdwatch website to download your free guide and spend an hour watching the birds in your patch at any time between 24th and 26th January and record the birds that land. Then just share your findings with the RSPB online or via post.
